Over the last week, my team and I have been working on laying out shots and blocking in assets, with the goal of having a layout animatic with camera movements by our next production pass.
The scenes that I worked on this week were scenes nine, ten, and eleven, the conclusion of our story. I started by blocking out the rest of the village and a bit of the market place that will be seen in the shots.

Having blocked this layout, I started to add very basic camera movement to the shots that I'll be blocking out, though I haven't finished any of those yet. Next week, my goal is to have the first pass of those shots done by next Friday.
This week was mostly setting things up to continue into next week rather than finishing any tasks outright, and another one of those tasks was preparing to start on the roc base mesh. What I would like to do for the roc is test out some feathers in XGen and Maya once the base mesh is finished, however that requires several steps beforehand. This week I made a plan for the base mesh and did some research into modeling a bird in Maya, as well as some cursory research into some XGen tutorials. Next week, I aim to complete the first pass of the base mesh for the bird in addition to the shot layouts.
