This week, my team and I are mainly continuing to work on blocking shots and camera movements for the layout animatic, as well as modeling hero assets.
I spent most of my time this week getting playblasts ready for several of my shots. While I have been struggling with visualizing how each scene should work, after talking it over with my group I was able to get on the right track.
[Video Description: A grayscale shot of a village and the main character simply blocked out in cubes. The person is running through the village. The camera starts at her feet as it tracks with her, and slowly tilts upwards until she reaches the outskirts of the village and shows mostly sky, with her singular kite. End Description]
[Video Description: A grayscale shot of four blocky characters holding kites against wind resistance. Slowly more kites rise to join them. End Description]
The other thing I began working on briefly this week was the base model for the bird. However, I haven't gotten very far because I am not very experienced in modeling creatures, so the process is going much more slowly than other modeling would. I plan to ask my modeling instructor for advice on approaching topology.
